I really like this pen. It has a bit of weight, the surfaces feel great, and it writes easily with the medium nib. I also like how the cap affixes when it is posted (placed on the back end), a design that minimizes scratching of the pen surface. Overall a great-looking pen with superb engineering and manufacture. I have recently tried more expensive pens from Sailor and Platinum, which seem cheesy compared to this Lamy Studio Lx.

The feel of the metal of this pen is very gratifying in the hand. It is lightweight for a metal pen, with or without cap posted. The metal grip section was not to my liking so I swapped it out for the rubber section, available separately from some retailers. The medium stainless steel nib that comes with the pen is great - it smoothly puts down a true medium line. It is painless (and relatively inexpensive) to swap out for other Lamy stainless steel nib sizes, as well. The pen did not come with a cartridge or converter; you will need to purchase a compatible one.

Surprised!! A week after I ordered it, I never expected it to arrive so quickly across the Pacific Ocean.However, when I opened the packaging of the parcel that arrived, I was very surprised again and disappointed because it was different from what I expected.Is this a new product? How can you send the ink cartridge connected? Fortunately, the ink has not leaked out, but there is no remaining amount. It's just empty!! How can do that?I don't want to be called a 'Demanding Customer' either, but this is not the level to discuss that.I was really disappointed!!The pen is really nice. The writing feel is so good!! I want to recommend it!

Timeless design and flawless function.

UPDATE: changing my review to 3 stars because it puts out SO much ink that on any "regular" paper, the ink bleeds like crazy.. The ink takes a loooong time to dry. As much as like it, I kept getting ink on the back of the previous page unless I gave it time to dry or blotted it.I must say the pen was packed BEAUTIFULLY - it is a nice box that was even wrapped in tissue.Original review:I've loved fountain pens since I was a kid, but it was only recently that I discovered I could buy BETTER fountain pens that don't leak or have the ink dry out in between uses. The medium nib puts out a lot of ink, which I like and contributes to a smooth writing experience. The grip seems to e a deal-breaker for some people: it's smooth AND bullet-shaped which lends itself to gripping the pen very close to the nib. I love it, though, because I have small hands and other pens I tried had nibs that were too long, with a ridge on the grip, and they were hard to hold.My pen arrived with the ink cartridge NOT installed. It was fairly easy to puncture with the nib, and writes very smoothly.

I have used Lamy pens before, Safari level. Really like the feel of the pen and look of the writing. Finally decided to up the game and went beyond the Safari. This pen looks great, writes very well and fits my hand well.

I have a couple other pens that I like and use and a couple other Lamys. This is my favorite daily pen. The finish is tactile enough to make it easy to grip lightly and not lose control of it. Weight and girth are nice as well.

Quality good, but nib should EF type. To dry ink taking time. Midium nib line thickness not comfort for writing.
