Works Great On OS X Mountain Lion -- Late 2011 MBP
I downloaded the new Alpha 2 display drivers from Display Link's website and the product works well. There are small issues that occur occasionally, which is to be expected in Alpha, but nothing serious that can't be fixed with a replug. Judging on the Alpha version, this product will be awesome with full driver release on OS X. I haven't tested on Windows yet.The image quality of the display is equivalent to my primary display. However, there is a slight lag and compression artifacts on full screen video and heavy action windows, but for most everyday tasks there is no noticeable difference in response or quality. Note, I have USB 2.0, but it's still great quality. I would assume USB 3 would be perfect. The product DOES work with two displays, even over USB 2. Currently I have one VGA monitor and one HDMI plugged in. The HDMI port DOES provide flawless audio, which is a plus because the Alpha drivers specifically mention not supporting sound. However, with two displays, there is a more noticeable lag introduced into both added displays. They are still usable, but not as responsive. This is due to USB 2 being too slow, USB 3 should solve the issue. Finally, all the OS X Display controls and Sound controls in Settings work flawlessly with this device: Arrangement, Resolution, Refresh Rate, Volume, etc. There is one issue with the USB 3.0 plug that is supplied with the product. When plugged into the USB 2 Macbook fully the product does not work, but if you pull the plug out slightly it works fine. I am assuming the extra contacts in the USB 3 connector are shorting against the Macbook. There are two solutions:1) Don't insert the provided cable all the way into the Macbook --if the cable sheath with the SS logo sits against the Macbook's frame it's in too far2) Use another USB 2 cable that fits in the device.Final note: I am using this device's screen to write this review. :-)

Quick and easy installation on Windows 10 (64 bit)
Quick and easy installation on Windows 10 (64 bit). I have two of these adapters - one at relatively low resolution (connected to an XGA projector), and the other is being used to add a third monitor to my laptop docking station (1440x900 resolution). In both cases, this adapter was capable of maintaining a good frame rate, and there was no noticeable lag between the monitor / projector attached to the UV+ vs the monitors that are connected directly to the desktop or docking station.I gave it five stars, because installation was a snap and the product performed well (my needs were basic). That said, the purpose / design of this adapter is not for high-end use. If your intentions for purchasing and using this adapter are gaming or intensive applications, you would be best advised to adjust your expectations thusly. I was able to easily locate and download the latest driver from EVGA's support site prior to installation (often times, the included disk contains an old version of the driver software). This adapter was the best solution for the desktop / projector scenario - the computer did not support an internal graphics card upgrade due to a bios limitation (Lenovo). In the other scenario, the laptop / docking station has four video connections, but only two could be used at once. Yet again, USB was the only option.

Great device, with some driver quirks
I bought this to extend my Macbook Pro display (for work) to a second external monitor. It works great with two (so far) caveats:1) Install the Display Link drivers from the official website2) Sometimes when I unplug the USB device from the laptop, the display continues to show what was last on the screen.I haven't yet been able to identify what causes situation #2, but if it happens I just quickly plug in and un-plug again, and problem solved. The screen refresh rate is so fast I can play 1080p content on it without any noticeable lag or stuttering. Keep in mind this is a USB 3.0 device, so it takes advantage of a nice fast USB3 bus. If you only have USB2 or USB1.1, it will not behave the same as it did for me.Would I buy again? Heck yeah. Great price for a second monitor!

Can't believe it...
I have a 13" Mac Book Air, Late 2010 that I've been using in clamshell mode with a 24" monitor and the Mini Display Port (MDP) adapters since I bought the laptop. That setup works great. I decided that I needed dual 27" monitors a while back. Problem is that there is only one MDP on the Air. When the new Retina with 2 MDP's came out I thought, there's my solution. I just couldn't come to terms with the price ($1800-$2600). I looked at the Belkin Express Dock ($150-$200) which has two MDP's only to learn that one is used for input from your laptop and the other is a passthrough. That wasn't going to work and it costs a lot. I finally decided to take the plunge on the EVGA which cost $60 plus a $10 rebate. I really had my doubts and was careful opening the package as I knew after trying to get it to work for 2 hours, getting frustrated and disappointed, I would be shipping it back. Was I ever wrong. I went to the EVGA website, downloaded the latest MAC driver, plugged that dude in along side my MDP adapter, and just like that, I've been running dual external HDMI monitors from my 2010 Mac Book Air. I can't comment on heavy video editing or CAD applications, I also can't comment on connecting the USB through a hub, mine's literaly in the USB port right beside the MDP. With word processing, internet surfing, spreadsheet work this unit has worked great for a week so far without any issues what so ever. Buy this product and gain a ton of acreage on your Air.

Great product - totally recommended
Great product. I use this for business. It comes with a CD but I chose to download the drivers from the web and their website was also great, found the Windows 7 driver in under 1 minute with no issues at all. I am using a DVI to DVI cable and a HDMI to DVI cable for the monitors. The unit has 1 HDMI and 1 DVI port so be aware that you may need to consider the HDMI to DVI connection if your monitor does not support an HDMI connection.Excellent product, already recommended to my other developer buddies and they ordered too!Now I am waiting for the "Mount-It! Articulating Quad Arm Computer Monitor Desk Mount for Monitors up to 27"!

Good Product, works as expected, easy to install... but......
Good product but I did not realize that once you commit to using these types of devices on a computer, if you want to add another one it must be the same brand (and model?) as the drivers from different manufacturers clash. This is an expensive one which I had bought first. Liked it so much, I now have three but I could not use the lower cost SII brand because of the drivers issues. If I was starting again I would definitely go with the lower cost one as in other situations, they have worked just as well as this brand.

Works great!
I use this at work for a third monitor and it works great. I can't go back to using two monitors. I recommend when you have multiple monitors that you also a third party tool that gives you taskbar on each monitor. I recommend this if you are in the need to increase your number of monitors.
