Very Good Interface
I've been using this interface for just about a year now, and it's my favorite I've ever owned. The preamps are pristine (which you're not going to get for a quarter of the price) and the routing is insanely flexible. Also, being able to either monitor with or track with the included effects (compression, EQ and Reverb) with no latency is also a powerful feature. I knocked off a star because at this price point it really should have a front panel hi-z input or two, and also a S/PDIF input. That being said, I've not missed either of those features, yet. Highly recommended.

Causes kernel panics on macos monterey
Not a great experience. Caused computer to shutdown sporadically in kernel panic (not healthy for the computer) multiple times in less than a week.Outside of this issue, I had a number of problems where the audio would cut out, emit a high freq sin wave and then stop altogether. Love that in the middle of a session, not. Restarting the interface may or may not fix the problem. It will happen again shortly after. Also, (wow, this really was a lousy experience), the Motu software is ridiculous. There’s a local webserver running *ostensibly* on the unit itself. This is how you access interface and routing settings. Terrible software design choice there, but the main thing is that it barely worked half the time. Often a blank page with a line of text saying “Could not communicate with device: bad context” and nothing in google results.I’m returning this and getting the Scarlett 8pre for literally less than half the price. Don’t know why or how I didn’t see that Scarlett model before.

nice audio interface... but.
Not worth the price. 8 preamps can be had on units for 1/4 the price with the same features. Really feel like ive been ripped off.
