I've tried a half dozen or more different brands of waterless shampoos over the years. I feel like there are always new and potentially better products coming out, but there are only two that I love and keep coming back to: this Bio-Groom, and Pure Paws (which is twice as expensive as this). The Pure Paws has optical brighteners and is particularly effective on dirt that will potentially stain fine white coats (think Bichon, Maltese, etc). While the Bio Groom says it has optical brighteners also, the Pure Paws waterless shampoo is more effective on getting whites their whitest, in my opinion. Because of the price difference, for anything else that needs spot cleaning, I grab my Bio-Groom.Bio-groom has a pleasant but not overpowering scent, a great spray nozzle you switch to off, spray and stream, is gentle, extremely effective, and very easy to use. Small cleanups are no longer a headache to get through, even on my long haired dogs, and I'll even use this on bigger jobs (trips through mud puddles, etc., that require water use): because it's so gentle, I don't have to worry about rinsing the product completely out.I used to foster for a small breed rescue and have used this on Maltese, Bichons, Cockers, Havanese, Yorkies - all breeds that are notoriously sensitive skinned and/or prone to allergic reactions - and I've always had beautiful, problem-free results. That said, I've also used this on heartier breeds - labs, cattle dogs, beagles - and had the same great results. Highly recommended.This stuff works! Bio-Groom, if you read these reviews, please don't change the formula!

My rescue is terrified of getting a bath. This in combination with brushing gloves is perfect. The stuff smells awesome!

My dog recently had surgery and we are not supposed to bathe him until the stitches are taken out. We have been using this to clean him up and it works wonderfully for minor, waterless, washing.WHAT THIS WILL DO: If you have normal, minor soiling, this is almost as good as a full-on bath. You have to use a lot of it, scrub it in thoroughly and towel dry until all the excess is out. Towel drying it the key because if you don't get most of it out, it will leave a scummy coating on the fur. But if you get most of it out and allow the fur to air dry, it leaves the coat clean, shiny and nice smelling.WHAT THIS WILL NOT DO: If you have a major mess, this is useless. Our dog went through a bout of massive vomiting and diarrhea during his recovery. His backside is extremely furry and a huge amount of excrement got embedded in the feathering on his hind legs and underbelly. It was the worst mess I've ever seen and we tried to clean him up using Bio-Groom to no avail. We ended up washing his "potty area" with the garden hose and very thankful that it is summertime here in the Rocky Mountains. If it had been winter when this happened, we'd have had major problems cleaning him up because our only bathtub is upstairs.So Bio-Groom is excellent for ordinary cleaning. But not so good for anything major.

Thought I had read this had a tea tree scent that went away when it dried. Thought I had read this foamed and you toweled the foam away. Maybe I was confused with a different product review. Anyway, I’ve been a loyal Bio-Groom user for many years. First used their lanolin shampoo, then ear cleaner, then tar & sulfur medicated shampoo. All work very well. This waterless shampoo is the same. It has a fragrant smell, not tea tree, that is still lightly noticeable when dry. It’s pleasant. Labrador doesn’t seem to mind it. When you spray it on, it wets the coat. Not sure waterless is best description. It’s very similar to water wet. Then you massage it in. I didn’t see any foam or suds. But it does seem to significantly loosen dirt and oils. Then you dry with a towel (dogs favorite part). Surprisingly clean and fresh. Takes about the same time to dry as a traditional bath. Figured it wouldn’t last as long as regular bath, but just the opposite. Maybe won’t have to bathe dog as often in winter months. Also noticed it helped with itching and biting at feet. Pretty good product. Will buy economy size next time.

This stuff is FANTASTIC.My dog and I are full-time travelers, most recently covering the desert southwest. The dust is pervasive and overwhelming at times, and I cringe when he lays in it.I worked 6 oz of this stuff into his fur, rinsed him down with water from a one-gallon Chapin pump sprayer, and his coat is as gorgeous as it would be if I'd worked at it for a half-hour in a bathtub with running water and regular dog shampoo.Surely it would have worked as well without water if I'd used more, but he benefited from the additional rinse.Having used it alone under normal "house dog" conditions, a rinse was unnecessary.This product gave him a glossy, smooth, soft coat with NO wet dog odor whatsoever, leaving him with a light, fresh scent (think kind of like Febreze diluted by 75%). Best of all, I have a clean, content pup with happy, refreshed skin.All that being said, I wouldn't be without this product. It far exceeded my expectations; it's magic! I can't recommend it highly enough.Thank you so much!

This BioGroom product is the best waterless shampoo that I have found for the price. It does not leave a residue. It contains no alcohol. It leaves the coat shiney.

Smells overwelmingly of baby powder, but works well.I gave it to the neighbors. Looking now for a fragrance free version.

I used this product to wash my cats. They are not easy to work with for a bath, and they generally dislike it. Therefor, I would avoid trying to bathe them unless it was necessary or an emergency (like getting sprayed by a skunk). I made it a mission for myself to try to find all the necessary tools to groom my cats without going to the groomers. This was a suggested method by groomers to use on cats. Cats obviously have a mind of their own, so they don't like it because of the spray.Super easy to use, and left their coats nice and soft. The smell is super light on my cats, since they do not have a gamy smell. It will be more pronounced on a dog, but the smell will last for a week.

This is a miracle product for any white long haired dog. I add a bit of “the Stuff” (also available on Amazon) and spray this during his twice weekly brushings.He can go for 3 months without a bath with this stuff, it keeps his coat nice and white.The part that blew me away is shown in the pictures. It was too late in the night to bathe him after a rigorous play session in the mud. I brought him home, sprayed this, did our regular routine and went to bed with a brown dog. Woke up to a white one.Obviously he still has a bit of browning, but I think one more round will do the trick. This stuff is beyond and incredible and has a nice light smell. Highly recommend.
