As other reviewers have said, this cinnamon has no aroma out of the package, even holding it up to your nose or breaking it into pieces (which is very easy to do). Apparently, that's how it should be.When you cook with it however, the aroma comes out and the flavor is wonderful.It's *nothing* like the cinnamon typically found in the grocery store. In fact, I don't care for cinnamon - the cinnamon I'm used to has a strong 'bite' that I don't like, but after reading about this type of 'real' cinnamon I decided to give it a try. I wasn't disappointed at all and have ordered a larger bag of it.I've been experimenting with some Mexican dishes that called for "Mexican cinnamon", or "real cinnamon" and this is it. So far I've made horchata and flan with it, and it's delicious.Of course, the longer it steeps in a hot liquid the more flavor you'll get. I think I'm hooked on it, and am looking for more recipes that I can use it in.If you're expecting or wanting the same flavor, 'bite' or aroma you find in the cinnamon commonly sold in U.S. grocery stores, this isn't for you.

Will not be repurchashing. I usually buy local but wanted to try ordering on Amazon. The quality isn't great. No cinnamon. It tastes like I'm drinking wood bark when soaked in warm to hot water.Edit: I was wrong. Some sticks are flavorful. It's a hit and miss. May repurchase again.

I open the package waiting to smell the aroma of Cinnamon.To my disappointment, there was absolutely no smell of cinnamon what so ever.Then I put it in my mouth, hoping to even taste the cinnamon, But it was like sucking on a stick.I even put 2 sticks of cinnamon in my hot tea and there still was no taste of cinnamon.I felt like Charlie Brown, instead of getting a Rock, I got a Stick.

These cinnamon sticks have little to no cinnamony flavor. If you want cinnamon sticks that have a true cinnamony flavor, these are not them. From what I have read, they have more health benefits. I typically use them to brew a ginger, tumeric, ceylon cinnamon tea. If I want a stronger cinnamon flavor, then I just add some additional saigon cinnamon sticks to kick it up a notch.

These sticks are definitely pricey, but I bought them on recommendation, and they are amazingly good. One can be used several times in tea or coffee. I swirl and then leave them both in hot chocolate and hot toddies. The flavor really is outstanding.
