I live on a lake in Florida and the mosquitoes and yellow flies are so bad in the late spring and summer that it's almost impossible to get any yard work done without getting attacked. I am very satisfied with the Flowtron's ability to kill insects but not sure yet on just how effective it is in attracting and killing biting flies. I've only had it for less than one week and so far, it has done a great job killing moths and small beetles. I did attach the octenol attractant to the bottom on the unit that came with the purchase. The attached picture shows just one night of bug killing. There are some dead insects on the ground but as you can see most are stuck on the 'non-clogging' killing grid. I'm not going to downgrade this 5-star review because that was not a selling point for me. You will need to clean the unit. Besides I want to easily see what it's killed and I can clean it with my powerful leaf blower in under 30 seconds. One concern that I have that is yet to be determined is what will happen if the unit is left on during a rain event. We get a lot of rain in Florida in the summer (even nocternal storms). As we all know, water and electricity don't mix and I hope it wouldn't short out. I will also add that the 'zapping' sound of insects getting fried is actually music to my ears! I don't mind it at all. I would highly recommend this product.

It had gotten to the point where I was forced to put mosquito repellent on every time I went outside. I put this thing out 2 days ago and I haven’t been bitten one time since. I’m so impressed I ordered a second one for the backyard. I 100% recommend this to anyone who has the sweet blood that those little needle nose demons are attracted to.

If you’re looking for a durable zapper, strong enough to take care of June bugs and not worry about a fire hazard, this is the one for you. American made, American strong. Would be 10 stars if it came with a dusk ‘till dawn feature, but it pairs nicely with an Amazon outdoor smart plug.

The product does what it says it does. Mosquitoes and another flying objects are being taken care of. I only rate it a four because the plastic piece where the mosquito attractant is supposed to be placed just broke. Everything else is a solid machine except for the dumb little plastic piece. Can that part be bought separately as I can see that being an ongoing issue?

I used to have lots of houseflies year around and I haven't seen a single fly in months since I ordered this bug zapper! The minute I put it up was the last time I saw a fly! I highly recommend this product. It is well worth the extra money.

Well built and solid. It is outside doing it's thing and taking care of flying bug problem. I have a suggestion to those with issues keeping the bait on the bottom. Medium size binder clips.

This works like a dream. We live in the woods and constantly have mosquitos, even on warmer days in the winter. We do keep ours inside until we are ready to use it, but that is only because we don't have a permanent place to hang it yet. When we use it, we turn it on just a little before we plan on being outside, and it starts working right away. We sometimes sit it on a table away from where we are, and when we get it to take it in, there is always a huge pile of dead bugs, mostly mosquitos. It is supper gross but also quite impressive. I have wanted a bug zapper for years because an Uncle of mine had one and it seemed to work, but I would hear people say things about the weird old people with bug zappers. I didn't want that being said about me. Now at 48, I don't care what people think about it. My family isn't getting chewed up by mosquitos and I wish I would have purchased one of these years ago. This works so well that I have suggested it to a hand full of people I know who also have a mad mosquito problem.
