Does the job and stays out of your way.
Small and compact. You have to bend the crosspiece a touch to get it to better formfit your rail, and velcro it on tight as can be (bending the wire a tad further to give you some spring tension) but after that 30 seconds of effort you can forget about the thing and just shoot. It is so lightweight it will not change the balance of your weapon, and it is so small it will not require any special handling to get around it like some of the pricier, fancier catchers will. Now, I *have* had a few rounds melt to the synthetic mesh enough that I can see the mesh eventually fraying as a result of repeatedly pulling off brass mated to the mesh... BUT here's the solution to that:Leave the bottom unzipped and don't try to hold the brass in it... just use this tool to control where it falls - on your table or right at your feet. All brass catchers fill up and if you start using one you will quickly discover that its time to empty the catcher when your weapon jams from a bagful of brass. Nature of the beast. This product lets you get around that. Leave the zipper open and hot brass never melts to the mesh since it falls thru, and more importantly you can ignore the brass catcher entirely and just shoot... Lastly its so small you'll easily forget its even on the weapon. Sure you have to pick up your brass but even standing on a slab of cement your rounds will go no further than a foot or two. Dirt simple. For uninterrupted shooting with unadulterated weapon handling this is the best tool for the job. The fact that its less than 15 bucks is a bonus

People at the range love this as much as I do!
It only took one yell for me to realize how good this product truly is! I was having feed problems with my AR 10 and I left this brass catcher off once. My buddy, who was shooting black powder to my right, yelled when I sent hot brass down his shirt back. I never left the catcher off after that. This thing is great. It doesn't have to be built like a tank to function. The netting doesn't melt with the hot brass, the zipper is smooth, and the opening for the brass is large enough for .308 brass. If you are unfortunate enough to have issues with your gun, you can leave the bottom of the net unzipped to send the brass down to your feet. The zippered opening is large enough to get your hands through it if you need to removed jammed rounds or pry a cartrige into or out of the chamber for removal. It may not be sturdy enough to hold a lot of brass without emptying, so if you want to empty your large capacity magazines, just unzip it at the bottom and let the brass fall directly down at your feet. You won't have to scoure a large area to make sure you found all your brass. The netting and catcher do not damage your brass at all. I wish everyone with AR style rifles used these at the ranges. It would greatly reduce the distractions caused by other shooters due to being peppered by their brass.Pros:Very light weightWorks flawlessly when positioned correctlySmall capacity so you aren't carrying extra brassCan be used to deflect brass to your feet.Cons:I still worry that the nylon netting may melt with some really hot rounds.Small capacity and you will have to regularly empty it if you are just plinking. Not enough AR shooters have and use these.

Caldwell brass ...
Catcher ! This device is exceptionally simple in operation and function and works just as advertised . If you've ever thought of collecting brass or sparing the poor sap beside you the small burn rings from your brass then this gem is the ticket . $10 here on Amazon and free s&h thru Prime i had this baby in 2 days and on the range in 3 ! My experience with it tells me the following ... it will hold easily 2 full mags from the AR or about 60+ rounds at that point it's pretty full but could likely take another half mag of brass . It also taught me that even with it's secure metal wire frame construction once you've got 2 mags of brass in it , it begins to droop and sag pulling it off the ejection port and thus effectively not working as advertised but this is not an issue . Simply unzip the bottom of the catch bag and whaa laa all your brass falls out . This device simply secures to your rifle by means of velcro . Granted that doesn't sound so impressive and honestly it's not but it is relatively effective and does the trick but a second attatchment point , say a rail mount clip of some sort towrard the rear of the rifle would've been the icing on the cake ! ( just a humble lil' 2 cents to the manufacturer for a future update !!! ) but all in all and aside from that 1 draw back i'm happy with it and suspect all but the most discerning customer will be also !

Works Perfectly Fine
Great price and works well. I recently upgraded my collection by getting a 300 Blackout AAC upper for my SBR. I've been converting .223 brass over to 300 blk and don't want to lose the stuff. So I got one of these catchers for some shooting last weekend. I got it overnight so I had it for a shoot on Sunday. Good fast delivery is sometimes really helpful. Anyway, you have to slightly mold the metal wire inside the cover to wrap around the forward grip with the strap. I did it by hand but it would probably be easier with some pliers. Just place it where the rear part encloses the back side of the shell deflector, then strap it down tight at the front. I also had to bend the wire to get the frame to sit tight against my receiver. Easy enough.Testing worked out great. I was shooting semi-auto and it had no trouble catching all my brass. You can leave the zipper closed and then empty the bag from time to time, or leave it open and let the brass just fall straight down into a little pile. Nice dual feature. The thing is light and the bag is pushed out just enough to give you a clearance for your right hand to reach through to the grip with no interference. Well minimum anyway.Definitely a useful device and well worth the price.
