Amazon Basics Kids Standing Art Easel, Chalkboard, 2 Paper Rollers

When I bought this I thought it was the Melissa and Doug brand... I didn't realize it wasn't until I began to assemble it and saw that it said Amazon Basics on the assembly instructions booklet... You'd really never know the difference between the two.I like how both sides are chalkboards and that both sides can also be used a painting easels too...However I wish there was a better way to hold rolls of painting paper as the top rods really don't have much space to hold a roll of regular paper....The storage areas are not very wide but you can store a decent amount of paint (depending on container)

I have two daughters 18 months apart and it was hard to find a Easel that had the same thing on both sides… Now they can do the same activity and there’s no fighting as both sides are same :) love it…

Overall it's a nice easel. It's nice for my twins because they both have the exact same thing (no one fighting over the chalkboard vs dry erase.) But there is one major flaw - the rod for the paper roll is WAY too close to the board. you really have to force it in there in the first place, and then you can't roll out the paper. It takes a few minutes of careful shuffling to force it out. As the roll gets used, I imagine it will be easier. But it's a real pain and design flaw. They could easily make the paper holder accommodate a normal sized roll so that you can easily install and actually roll the paper as intended.

I had looked a long time for a painting easel with two paper rolls. I have two children who often like to both work at the same time. This easel was the first I found that fit that bill. I also liked how both sides had the same style tray to hold paints. As I was assembling the easel (online directions, but easy to follow) my daughter suggested that we not have them facing each other and instead put them next to each other again the wall. So I just skipped the steps that attached the hinges of the two larger pieces. (See photo) My kids love painting next to each other and say it makes it easier to share paint. Also I feel this set up takes up less space. We were going to anchor them to the wall, but it doesn’t seem necessary because the are stable just leaning against the walls. I took off one star because the dowel for paper rolls has to be completely unscrewed to replace the roll. In addition it is very tight with a new, full roll of paper. Just a couple of millimeters more distance between the dowel and the back would have made all the difference.

Love and most especially for the price. Came in a huge long box and well protected. Easy to assemble. Amazing but ine engineering design i wish was better is the bar that holds the paper. Wish they made one end of the dowel a quick snap on and off. You have to unscrew it to put a roll on or take it off. So i leave it a half screwed so i dont have to do to much. Also i got a reg roll of paper and seemed a little thick for the space between board and the dowell. Other then that my son loves it. Also wish it had built in clips for the paper to stay to the board at the end.

The tray that holds the crayons, markers, eraser is sturdy and well placed. The chalkboard is easy to use and clean, and once the board gets some use, the erasers easily erase the chalk, and resembles what we all remember as a functioning chalk board. A damp paper towel will restore it all to brand new, if desired. I went ahead and bought two at the same time, and it keeps the little ones busy, inside and out. They will randomly walk over and just start drawing. He spelled his first few letters on this outside, and began jumping up and down with how happy he was with himself, pretty great.

The space for the roll is not wide enough to fit a roll of paper. Read all reviews and honestly the bad ones are due to user errors. This is easel is awesome, assembles easily and can be folded as well. Yes, the rolls are a little tight but that’s all I could say, personally this is actually an as advantage when you’re dealing with toddlers as they can’t go haywire with the paper as they otherwise would (at least my kids).

Purchased this for a special child and was disappointed at the quality. Major assembly necessary. Predrilled holes were in the wrong spots. Small tray for accessory had only one predrilled hole. Would send it back but it is too big and bulky!!! Disappointing!! Would love a refund!
