Remember what you are purchasing
Excellent item for the price. This is a historical 1940's era helmet, Keep that in mind when purchasing. This is a wonderful addition for my collection. Reviews left are confusing, remember what you are purchasing " a collectible" 70 year+ historical item. If you want a functional helmet, I suggest a different item, if it is for your collection, I highly recommend this helmet.

Not exactly what it's advertised as.
So the helmet I received looked pretty much exactly like the ones pictured, the liner was a little disintegrated but honestly not bad, the strap was pretty strong.Only problem is, this is NOT a Russian M40, it's actually not even Russian. These helmets are Czech M52/53 helmets, which were based off of the Russian M39 helmet. Now take note, these helmets are advertised as Russian soviet army m-40 helmets, but they're really Czech M52/53 helmets. My helmet is dated 1957, far from when Russians would have been manufacturing M39 Helmets. Now I'm not saying this is a bad buy, my helmet is in pretty nice condition actually (it was REALLLLY dirty when it arrived though) but it simply isn't what it's advertised as. If you want a cheaper helmet that LOOKS like it could be a vintage WWII russian helmet, then by all means this will do just fine, but you're not actually getting an M39 or M40.On another note, the helmet liner feels small, meaning if you have a large head, don't necessarily expect this helmet to fit you well. Also be prepared to CLEEEEAN the inside if you want to wear it without getting dust and gunk all over your head. There are other Czech M52/53 helmets on Amazon for about 10 bucks less advertised as russian, If you bought those you would probably get the exact same thing for 10 bucks cheaper. If I had known this was a Czech M52, I wouldn't have bought it from this seller for this price. I would have gone somewhere else. Good lesson on internet buying though.TL:DR This isn't a Russian M40, it's a Czech M52/53, but it looks exactly like pictured, liner is small, shop around for cheaper.

Don't waste your money, go to BUD K
In the current state it's in it could serve as flower pot or target practice because the inside is rotting and has metallic dust inside and It's as if they went to some mass grave and dug up some soldiers just to take their helmets. The German Stahlhelm however from these guys its fine it's just that this......thing is an anomaly.
