UPDATE: This company's customer service reached out to me after reading my review and apologized for the bag not meeting expectations. They were so kind and wanted to right the situation. Their customer service is fantastic...I would definitely buy from them again knowing that they seem to care that their customers are happy. While still not thrilled about the bag, after using it I will say it is sturdy. After pricing others in a retail setting, the same purse runs twice as much in stores. So overall it's not that bad a purchase for the price I guess.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Oh man this was a bad purchase. I have a gala to attend in a couple of days and did not have time or a fortune to spend on a bag, so I consulted Amazon. This box being ranked #1 for a formal purse lets me know y'all can't be trusted. I don't usually even write reviews, much less bad ones - but THIS! I dropped the purse and went straight to my computer to review it - it's THAT bad. It looks and feels cheaper than expired ramen noodles. This bag looks like someone wrapped some felt over some cardboard that was taped together and ran a chain of paperclips through a hole they punched in the sides. This bag will cancel out any fancy feelings you might have while in your nice dress and shoes. You will be reminded that you cheaped out. This is less RED CARPET and more RED ROOF INN. Oh, it is so bad.THE ISSUES: It really isn't velvet, it's just cheap fuzzy-ish material that has strings hanging off. The inside has the same liner and zipper you find in a dollar store bag - like cheap nylon and plastic. The snap does not want to line up and you have to really look and push hard to get it to close. It's a fight. The chain is short and super cheap looking so if you have boobs or are not petite framed, expect it to hang just below your armpit if you try to crossbody carry. If you want to remove the chain, be prepared to deal with a hook that makes it almost impossible. You may scratch or chip a nail trying. The one redeeming quality and reason I gave it two stars was that there was room for a pack of cigarettes and my phone - and maybe my keys. None of my other clutches hold that much. Idk - you would probably still pay $20 for this in a mall setting during prom season or something, but it is very cheap and not worth the $10-$12 spent in my opinion. I would rather go to the thrift store and find some cool vintage beaded bag. I will probably return this if I can find something else in the next day or so.

The purse is more of a suede type fabric than velvet. It's dark navy, rather plain and one pleat is not quite right. I added a little bling by attaching a butterfly rhinestone pin and we like the effect. So far the chain is holding up and the size is good. I will use it at least a couple of times, but it seems like it was not made for long term use.

I got the blue velvet purse. I bought it for a New Years Eve party. The purse was really pretty although it was a little lighter than the picture shows but not enough to not match the rest of my navy blue accessories. It had plenty of room for all of my necessities.The only reason I’m giving this 3 stars is because the chain broke about halfway through the night. I had kept it on my shoulder all night but was not rough with it at all. For the rest of the night I had to hold the purse. Seeing as how it was only $12 Im not that surprised but I just wish it would have lasted.

The purse is okay. Looks exactly like the picture and exact color. It's great if you just need something fast but it's definitely not something that's going to last. It's made very cheaply, seems to me as a piece of cardboard covered in velvet material with a very very cheap chain. But it was last minute it was for my daughter's first homecoming and I just needed to find a quick cheap clutch / red purse.

Absolutely love love love this bag! I get compliments about it all the time. I’ve been issuing it non-stop since the day I got it. I was worried because it was so cheap that it might not last long, but it has so far! Not even a little fray of stitching popping out or anything! The button that clams is still intact as many times as I open and close the bag. I cal also use it as a clutch. The color hasn’t faded and material that the bag is made of is also is like a suede material. A+++

I ordered the red to go with heels and a cardigan I also purchased. The color I received is more of a dark salmon pink. I’m so disappointed.The size and softness are amazing and it seems to be very well made. I really hope I can find a replacement like this bag that’s the correct color.

Disclaimer: I’m generally not a picky person. I do agree that it is a very nice looking bag. However, it wasn’t too roomy & was pretty stiff, so I couldn’t even try and stuff it if I wanted to. Plus, the chain broke! But, I managed to reattach it. For the exterior size of the bag, I expected it to hold more :/Update: The customer service is great!! They contacted me regarding the quality and was very accommodating :)

I don't know what the fabric was on this purse, but it wasn't real velvet. I felt like I was opening up a cardboard purse (I'm sure it was cardboard). Had a decent pretty chain that was probably worth more than the actual purse. Returned.
