I am using this book with several of my violin students for a holiday recital. Great pieces that are fun for students to learn!

This is a great Christmas music book for the fiddle, especially if you have someone you can twin fiddle with. It has many of the familiar Christmas songs and it has a lot of "not so familiar" French and Old English tunes. I have a friend that I play with and we have played every song in this book. The harmony is very nice and the songs are not too difficult to play. I would recommend this book to anyone who is still learning to play the fiddle.

Christmas music book for fiddle. Lots of tunes I have never heard of, and a harmony for everything in it. Also came with a book for piano to accompany the fiddle (just in case the day comes when someone else wants to listen to me play). I always liked Christmas music. It is kind of nice to actually be successfully learning how to read music!

This is a really good selection of catchy melodies that can be played be most everyone, even a beginner. A harmony score for a 2nd violin is conveniently provided, as is an insert with the piano score for each song. Great book for practicing with another person. I have a few Mel Bay books and I enjoy this one the most. They have chosen pieces that someone might actually like to play or listen to :)

I have been playing violin for 6 months and this is a good book for my level. It's nice to be able to play Christmas songs even though I don't have a lot of experience yet.

I purchased this book to play along with a fiddling group I joined. Being a beginner I rely on the music rather than playing by ear as most of the people (children and adults) do in the group. I like the size of the book for ease learning the tunes.

This book was a huge disappointment! I bought this for my son who is an average guitar player (5 yrs with no significant lessons) and my niece and daughter who play have played Violin for many years (20+ combined). My goal was to get them a book where they can "fiddle" not play single notes at the beginner level. Although they use the same instrument, there is a difference between fiddling and playing violin. This book should be title violin duets for Christmas not fiddling as there was only one fiddling tune in the book. As a violin music book, it pales in comparison to many others on the market like Christmas Favorites for Strings by Llyod Conley or Christmas Kaleidoscope I by Robert Frost. Don't waste your time or money if you truly are looking for fiddling music.
