Metabo HPT Masonry Saw | 4-Inch Diamond Blade | Cuts Pavers, Concrete, Tile & More | CM4SB2

I am not a professional tiler, however I do a lot of tile work on my own properties. I watch the tools and techniques the good professionals use, and mimic that. Hitachi made this saw with a water sprayer and it is the tool of choice, however Hitachi is no longer. One of their spin offs is Matebo. This is the good one Hitachi made however the new company ommitted the water injection.I drilled a 3/16 hole in the back of the blade guard and press fit a micro dripper line and 1/4 turn shut off valve. Problem solved. Works great as a wet saw or dry for cement board.I also added a GFCI extension cord end available here on Amazon.Now what a tool. One thing about working with large tile is the weight of the tile can cause the tike to break out at the end of the cut if not supported perfectly. If just doing a couple cuts an interior door with some wood slats glued to it works ok. The 4 x 4 jig table shown works great for me. Make it square, plane the edges, glue and lag bolt together. The off center support is for smaller pieces and the V cut is blade clearance. I didn't add leggs as I use this on the tailgate.I back cut half an inch on the out cut side and every cut is perfect. I am using a Bora straight edge, also available here on Amazon. I like the Norton 4 inch blade. Cheap blades aren't worth my frustrations.I am very happy with the quality of the cut, the bearings in the tool run smooth, and the motor is quiet. The price sure didn't make me cringe either.

This product line was originally by Hitachi, who really had a niche market with these saws and produced some really fine tools. Why it's Metabo now I don't know, but fortunately the quality is still the same. It's a great all-around dry/wet saw that's almost essential for masonry work.Although the quality is still great, Metabo packages this as a dry saw. Easy to use - a lot easier to use vs my grinder. Very good control and the weight allows you to do less work when biting into the material. I love the size and the weight b/c i know its a high quality piece of machinery. I saw a few times online where these Chinese tile layers were cutting 18-20" tiles and I was like "I need that tool" and here we are. I use this to cut openings on side walls to install electrical plugs without using my grinder. Cut any material really is what I wanted this for (rock, concrete, tile, marbo etc) and I bought it b/c it has the torque that I was wanting in a compact tool such as this.

This small Metabo (formerly Hitachi) saw is a powerhouse.It cut through large format (24" x 48") porcelain tiles on the long end. It's particularly useful when cutting outlet/switch boxes that are entirely within a tile. I cut from the back of the tile so that the over cut from the spinning blade is on the back side. Four plunge cuts and you have a clean, neat install. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Stout tile saw - versatile and well built. Recommend.

This is a great little saw for cutting tile that is to long to cut on a wet saw or if you need intricate cuts, However on the first day of use this saw's power trigger failed and now runs wide open any time it is plugged in. There is no way to stop the blade except by unplugging it. After contacting the Metabo customer support I was told that I can take it to a service center which there is not one in my town or I can pay to ship it back to their factory.

I can't believe how great this little saw worked cutting the pavers for my patio. The blade is a little short for some pavers but I just turned the paver over and cut on the other side. Love it and so do my neighbors.
