Great for keeping old doors shut
I know this product is supposed to be for cabinet doors, but my husband installed it on our wooden door to the basement. Our house was built in the 1920s and many of the doors/walls have shifted, meaning the doors no longer shut properly. There are many options to fix such a problem, but installing one of these catches was the easiest solution. Now our door easily shuts. My husband had to add a stack of washers to make the plate on the door meet the magnet on the frame, however, since there was a gap. This fix wouldn't be ideal on a door in a formal part of the house since it might be unsightly to see the plate on the upper part of the door. I imagine these would be wonderful on cabinets, though you'd need a much smaller one than the one we used for our door.

Works as advertised
Some of the reviews said the magnets were not strong. This was not the case in the items I received. The cabinet doors are closed tight. Maybe too tight for some people. The only thing that is a little tricky is installation. You have to make sure you are putting the magnet on the door in the correct place. My doors overhang the openings, so the magnet has to be positioned inside of the door. Not a big deal, you just have to make sure your measurements are correct.

Good magnet but poor design
First watch out for the screws. They look alike but are different. The flat head screws are for the strike plate. If you put the round one in as I did then you can't replace the other screws because they are smaller and won't hold. It would also be nice if the screws actually went flush with the strike plate. But they don't so if your off just a bit they block contact with the magnet. AND the screws are poor quality. The heads strip easily ad one screw broke as it was being screwed in. An lastly the magnet assembly is a poor design. There is no sway so it won't make solid contact until it is fully engaged and then only if you've got everything lined up exactly. And this is more difficult than most because the mounting holes have very little adjustment room and are also uncommonly close to the body making it difficult to screw in.

Strong magnet
Used on homemade warped closet doors and wasn’t sure it would hold. Magnet and plate needs to be aligned exactly in the right spot to ensure it pulls the doors closed and stays shut.
