Works better than I expected
Works better than I expected. Purchased for the current (June2018) heatwave to keep my garden pond a bit fresher. I have left off the fountain head and just connected three feet of homebrew pipe which is hidden and comes out on an angled flat stone a foot above the pond. This makes a small waterfall into the pond and aerates it nicely. Quite a reasonable flow in this never ending bright sunlight. Don't know about cloud... we haven't seen one for a few weeks. Wales is in turmoil.. where's our rain gone...Update for Easter 2019. Just dug it out of the shed as it was put away for winter. Working as good as new again. Very bright sun here though. It does work in slightly overcast weather, but of course the flow is reduced. The rock it flows over is situated a foot above the pond. Going to have to get another and build a separate water feature somewhere. Very good.

Needs a couple of minor alterations
A good little pump which operates in direct sunshine (not plain sunlight). Difficult to mount as comes with a flat back on the solar panel. I ended up buying a flexible desk mount for a computer tablet, which fastens to our fence. This allows me to move the panel to follow the sun. Suckers on the base of the pump unit don't really stick, so a bit of waterproof glue helps. Also, ours is in a 24 inch bird bath, and the holes in the sprinkler heads are very small, so the water is sprayed very high, and out of the bowl. I have enlarged the holes with the use of a hot nail.

Cheap and cheerful
For a smallish pond it is very good. Too Powerful for a bird bath but not spectacular. Excellent as a gentle water feature.I let it float as it is difficult to secure to a base but I still like it. You do need to keep the pump clear of pond weed.

Good value
I've been meaning to buy a new pump for our fountain for the last couple of years but I didnt really know what to buy or whether it would fit, I certainly didnt want to spend alot of money. When the pump arrived I wasn't very hopeful as it was so tiny and I couldn't see how it could possibly pump the water high enough to come out of the top. Using one of the adaptors I fitted the tube on the fountain at which point the sun promptly went behind a cloud! So I waited...and waited, finally the sun appeared and a lovely stream of water came down from the top of the fountain! It doesn't work when the suns not out but that's what I expected. So all in all, a good little pump, very pleased.

Not sure!
Not entirely sure what to put ... great little fountain but only if the solar panel has full sun on it. Whilst I get that solar works with the sun any other item I’ve had that runs on solar stores the energy it gets when the sun is out?Would appreciate some feedback from the sellers as I can’t find a way to contact them.

Pretty but not very effective
I suppose I should have read the information more thoroughly. I thought the fountain would have been more powerful. I ordered a second before really trying the first. Both work as per the information. So would suggest you read information to make sure it is what you really want. Is it strong enough, maybe not.

Bribe included for a five star review!
I think perhaps people have been very generous with their reviews. The pump is the smallest I have ever come across. It has no crap collecting sponge so is likely to block quickly. But in bright (direct) sunshine it does pump water quite well. Sadly the panel is only just capable of providing enough juice so as soon as even a slight bit of cloud goes across, the pump stops and just spasms every couple of seconds. As this is the 1.8W model and not one of the lower cheaper varients (not that they look any different) I am disappointed that the performance isn't a bit more consistent.I am also not impressed with the note in the box of a discount bribe for a five star review. Reviews are there to help Amazon customers choose between the wheat and the chaff. Contamination of the review system with FAKE reviews is ruining the Amazon experience and has prompted me of late to start going back to bricks and mortar shops more often.
