I am a big advocate of starting crafts as soon as possible with creative kids. This set is a really good choice for someone who wants to play around with beading. Seed beads are usually tiny. This set is on the larger side, making it great to learn to use the beads without having them be quite so tiny.WHAT SIZE ARE THE SEED BEADS?This says 3mm but if you translate that to seed bead sizes, that translates to a size 8. I usually use 10 and sometimes 11 when doing earrings or other beadwork. The smaller beads allow for more intricate designs in a smaller format.WHAT ARE THESE BEADS GOOD FOR?Size 8 seed beads will still allow for some nice creative jewelry, but it will be on the larger side so intricate designs will end up in a larger footprint. That works great for rings, jewelry that is more robust like bracelets, etc.They will also work well as spacer beads between larger beads.COLORSThe colors of these beads are beautiful. They are bright, intense, and the clear ones are still nice glassy colors but less intense than the opaque ones.QUALITYThe quality of these beads is good but not top notch, which is fine for hobby crafts and learning. There is some irregularity and uneven shapes, but overall they are still worth getting.CASEThe case is flat, shuts tight, and is easy to use. It is also not hard to store either.TOOLSThese are basic tools that come with this allowing for some great learning and experimentation.WHAT I GOT THIS FORI got this for some of the beads to put in my collection as spacer beads but also to pass on to one of my kids who works with younger kids for a learning craft to do. I love that this set included both sheer and solid beads. What a gorgeous mixture they made when I combined them. This is my first time using sheer seed beads in my shaker cards. I was able to create over 20 cards with this bead mix. The 3mm size is ideal and has ample room to be shaken about inside the cards. I used the larger beads and elastic string on my air fresheners. I am delighted with everything supplied in this kit. The beads are all uniform in size, top quality, with no junk beads or broken bits. Top quality.

These beads are nice and there are a lot of colors. It has everything needed to get started on a beading project. The beads are not all the same exact shape and size, but similar enough. For the price, I would not expect them to be uniform. They will be fun to use for a variety of projects.

I don't think I got the letter "G" in mine... unless I'm blind and still haven't noticed it.... and there are a few letters that were faded like the "S" I'm pointing to. Otherwise a great value.

These beads have been great for crafting, the colors are super pretty and vibrant. I'm impressed with the quality of the glass beads, they are mostly the same size and don't break easily. The container keeps them nice and organized, and the little scissors are super useful.

I wasn't paying attention and these beads are TINY! But, we made lemonade out of lemons and used them to make tiny baby bracelets. They are well made and easy to bead.The kit comes with everything you need to make bracelets.

I ordered these beads for making friendship pins. They're the perfect size for the one inch safety pins. Some of the beads are a little thicker than others and don't thread onto the pins as well as others, but mostly they're a uniform size. The colors of the opaque beads are bright. The clear beads aren't as pretty. It's like they don't have as much pigment as I remember them having. More watered down looking than other clear beads I've had. Still, the price for these is amazing. At the local craft store, you may pay the same price for just 50 grams of any single color of bead. The large eye beading needle died the first time I used it and the tweezers are plastic and less than ideal. But you get so many beads for the price that it's worthwhile.

I bought these beads to make money leis, but they turned out to be too small and very difficult to thread. The set is complete with scissors, string, a clip, and a needle to help with threading the string through the strap. I would prefer it if the beads were larger and there was more string included. These beads are not suitable for young children, as they are very small and could be a choking hazard.
