Making nighttime outside fun again
I’ve been an amateur stargazer for 50 years, since I was a kid. In that time, my knowledge of the sky and ability to identify planets and stars has ebbed and flowed. In the past few years, despite keeping an app on my phone, I’d gotten weak again and forgotten quite a bit. But that turned out to be kind of a good thing, because with this telescope, everything is new again and just as thrilling. There’s a lot to learn with even this relatively basic telescope, and I still have a long way to go, but setting it up did take some time as I read the manual thoroughly to ensure the most accurate setup. It’s also good to practice and know what each knob controls. It’s super disappointing when, just as you center the moon or one of the planets in the viewfinder, you go to tweak the arrangement and hit the wrong one. In one quick fell swoop, the hard fought focus is gone. But as I’ve gotten better and learned more about each aperture and the filters, I’ve had hours of fun now just looking at the moon, let alone all the planets and nearby stars. The quality of the optics seems good to me, but again, I’m no pro. This is a great item for bringing the family together again around a common and fascinating subject. Best of all, rather than everyone staring at their individual phones, you have to talk to each other and share to use the telescope together—and it’s such a joy to return to communicating with each other.

Nice
I bought this for my husband. The first night he took it out the knob that tightens the telescope so you can angle it, stripped out. He is going to find a new one in his stash. Otherwise he likes it.

great beginner scope
This kit is a good introduction to real astronomy for a beginner. The 70 mm objective lens and relatively low f-number (f/5.7) are designed to provide bright images without too much magnification. It comes with three eyepieces: 20mm (x20 mag), 10mm (x40 mag) and 4 mm (x100 mag). The 20mm and 10mm eyepieces will be very useful for looking at either terrestrial objects or the stars and moon. The 4mm eyepiece is less useful because the eye relief is so low that it takes some experience to even use it. It would have been better to have provided a Barlow lens instead of the 4mm in my opinion, but your mileage may vary. I like that a finderscope is included - you really can't find anything in the sky without one. The prism attachment is also handy to keep the image upright. Without it the images will all be upside down, which is hard to get use to for a beginner. My suggestion for the phone attachment is to just lose it. I know you can make it work, but I have yet to see one that is not a Rube Goldberg contraption. But it is included so you can play with it and see if it's something you want to use. If you can get the phone camera lined up in a solid arrangment, the phone camera might provide some extra fun. Don't forget that you are observing from a spinning earth, and so the telescope will magnify the apparent motion of the stars and planets so don't expect your images to look like Hubble photos. With this scope you will obviously be able to see lots of detail on the moon, but also you should be able to see some cloud formations on Jupiter, along with it's 4 inner moons - you can watch them shuttle back and forth from night to night. Also you should be able to see the rings of Saturn and maybe it's moon Titan. And of course in the daytime you will be able to see lots of birds, etc. It's a great beginner setup. I forgot to take a photo, but when I get the scope out next time I will provide a photo.

Get your kids to look up.
Easy to set up and point to the sky on a clear night to gave on the moon or other points in space to get them into stargaving. Simple matter to get a app for your phone to find where the planets are. Really clear instructions on how to set it up and what the filters do.

Seems more expensive
This is a great starter telescope and comes with a ton of equipment. There are multiple lenses, colorful filters, a tripod, the ability to take photos with your phone and a very convenient canvas case to pack it all up and store it out of the dust or travel with it. It looks and feels more expensive than it is and provides a lot of viewing fun. I’d definitely recommend it.

Powerful Smaller Sized Astronomy Telescope
The media could not be loaded. This product is a very nice smaller sized astronomy telescope that has 70MM aperture & 400MM focal length fracture capabilities. For its size and price this is a well-built high powered astronomy telescope. The base of the telescope is all white with black lens, guard and black trim around the telescope. It also comes with a smaller, sturdy tripod that is extendable to a higher reach. It also has three different eyepiece lenses, 4mm (100x), 10mm (40x) & 20mm (20x) zoom. This product also comes with five different colored filtered lenses, for a more colorful outlook. This product even comes with a cell phone holder clamp, a wireless remote clicker, so that you can take a photo of what you are viewing that is also android and Apple compatible, and also comes with a carrying bag. This is a great little beginner astronomy, telescope, and also great for kids. When I used this telescope to view the night sky, I was able to view the moon in a way I have not personally experienced before, as I had clear images of the moon, and I can see better in greater detail using this telescope, it is a great product, and it is also priced fairly.

Fun telescope great for beginners like myself
Great starter telescope, comes with everything you need to get going.Easy to setup out of the box, even has a bluetooth shutter for your phone camera and the phone attachment to use on the eyepiece.Comes with three lenses of different zoom lengths, no barlow lens so you'll need to pick one up if that's your thing. Also no tripod tray for between the legs, but does come with a nice travel backpack that fits everything nicely if you want to use this on the go.Packs up much smaller than you might think, would be good for using outdoors during a camping trip or something.
