I think you really have to trust the names of colors when you're buying beads online. This is not what I think of as maroon (brownish-red, closer to purple) . It's more of a true red with an orange shade. The picture above has several brands featuring the red through orange tones (from left to right):Bead Treasure- Silver-lined orange redMiyuki (this brand)- Red Brown- Chocolate Brown (a true brown)- Opaque MaroonCzech Glass Beads by Bead Treasures- Opaque Dark Red- Opaque Brown- Garnet- Orange- BronzeThe beads themselves, however, are uniform though expensive compared to what you can get at your local craft-store.

I have been buying miyuki beads for a long time now. I ran out of maroon and ordered some more through Amazon this time cuz cheaper than etsy with having to payi shipping.i will NEvER make that mistake again. The beads are not miyuki maroon. They say they are on the outside of the plastic tube but they are very close to vermillion red.....which I did not need. Too much of a hassle to ship back so they got me. Don't let them get you to!

The color is actually a bright tomato red, not a dark brownish red as implied by “maroon”. The picture is darker than the beads. Product arrived quickly.

Not happy with the color. I would say it's more like a red. I needed maroon. I could easily but that color at a store.

I like the beads. Miyuki are the best. What I don’t like is that I buy 24 grams of beads and only receive 8.5 grams. Send me the 8.5 grams with a sticker claiming it is 24 grams. I contacted seller and hopefully we can come to something. But this is obviously a rip off. So please fix.
