Perfect Fit For A Small Outdoor Patio
We recently down-sized to a smaller villa and the thing I missed most was my herb garden. Our new patio is very small compared to our previous home and I needed a solution. I found it with this raised bed planter. It was relatively easy to assemble (about 45 minutes). The pieces fit together very well and the wood was soft enough to screw together without much effort. It seems very sturdy. After assembly I added some inexpensive casters so I could move it easily. I also spray painted a coat of Thompson's Water Seal in the hopes of extending its life.A good value for the money.

Great weekend took about 30 minutes and looks very nice.
I bought this one and realized I was gonna need another one. This one has great instructions is well-built and is very easy to install and put together once you get it done only took me about 30 minutes and it really is a nice looking unit and very sturdy. I am designating another one so I purchased one with the same dimensions but a different manufacture. They look very very close so I went ahead and bought it. That was a big mistake. The other one I bought is absolute junk. The instructions are now it might as well be a blank piece of paper and the quality is not nearly as sturdy. Is this one stick with them stick with this one and you won’t be sorry it’s it’s nice and it’s a lot more sturdy . .

Almost Perfect Fit for Earthboxes
Rather than filling raised wood planters with soil and water which has its own set of problems, I searched for a size to specifically hold Earthboxes on our covered deck (and that would look nice and not prone to tipping in heavy winds). The 34x18 size is almost a perfect fit. After reading the reviews, I knew they would need additional work to ensure their strength and longevity. Out of the four purchased, only one had no major issues. Pros: the holes for the screws are countersunk so screws are flush; easy assembly (clever design the way it comes together); sanded smoothly (but still needs more sanding on the edges); cheaper than buying wood these days. Cons: thin wood with a couple of split side pieces; ugly wood filler here and there; incorrectly notched bottom braces. No wood pieces are perfect especially at this low price. We used wood glue and clamps when screwing the panels together and to fix the split pieces. We had to extend the notch on three of the bottom braces (in the photo, I held one of the braces on its side to show how “off” the notches were on both ends). Coated everything with Thompson’s Water Seal. Stapled heavy Plast-o-mat shelf liner in the bottom of the box, with holes/slits to match up with the drainage holes. Most importantly, we screwed extra 1x2 braces to the legs to support the box at both ends, where the sides are screwed into the legs and the most common failure point seems to be.We didn’t attach the lower shelf on two of them as the dog potty will go underneath (just attached the shelves upright on the back legs as a screen). They seem stable enough without the shelf, as we will not be moving them around, but can always add a 2x2 brace if needed. It has now been 2 months with the soil and water filled Earthboxes, and everything is holding together very well.

Good bang for your buck!
Very good product, very happy with it, nice, natural looking in my backyard, roomy and sturdy. The only thing is, I would recommend having an electric drill driver to put the plant box together. I put mine together by myself in less than an hour :-) would buy again and might still get one or two more.

Better than expected
Being in construction I could have made some. But this was way cheaper to do so. They do go together well with no problems. For the price it is very decent. Before I put them out, I am going to line them with a pool liner. Then just make holes to match for drainage. Hoping to get extra years out of them. But it was way better than expected. Don't expect a fort knox thing. I got two of them and glad I did.

I received this as a gift from my husband and then he put it together!! It is great! Easy to assemble and fantastic. It’s perfect for growing herbs and not having to bend over. I can’t wait for Spring!

Great planter! Easy to build and sturdy.
This was pretty easy to put together in 10-15 minutes for a not-so-handy woman. Looks nice and is quite stable. I have herbs planted in it and they are flourishing with the nice depth of soil.

Perfect size and sturdiness, but be aware of drainage
TLDR; perfect in terms of size and construction, just be aware of the drainage underneath if using on a balcony or other non-rainproof surface.Really this is a 4.5 star review — perfect size, very sturdy, and easy to assemble. It could be easily painted or stained if you like, but I’m happy with just the natural pine look. I also love that it provides a bit of storage for gardening equipment underneath, but you could certainly put extra planter boxes there, if you prefer.I only wish I had paid more attention to the drainage holes and slats that form the bed of the box. The slats simply lie in place (they are not screwed down) and have about a 5mm gap between them, along with the pre-drilled hole in the centre of each one. This probably isn’t an issue if you’re on the ground, or another rainproof surface, but on a condo balcony it could get very messy for your downstairs neighbour! To get around this, I simply lined mine with a thick plastic tarp which I secured in place. I pierced one of the drainage holes, and put a tray underneath. Finally I filled the bottom with regular river rocks to provide additional drainage before filling with soil.Overall, I would recommend without hesitation, just as long as you’re aware of your drainage situation.
