If you choose to use them, and you don't have to, it is probably best to do so PRIOR to painting. Ideally, you'll need some water, maybe in a spray bottle, and a small hammer. Lay your canvas face down and spray a little water onto the back of it, making sure to have it pass beneath the wooden frame (stretcher). This will loosen the canvas. Now push a key into the slots in each corner, one in each direction so that the angled edge lies against the inside of the canvas - don't worry about which way round to place them - as long as you can tap the square end with your hammer. Now, as your canvas dries, it will tighten nicely after use of the water or paint. **Q: Can these be used for water based spray paint** A: The canvas can be used for air spray paint **Q: The listing for 30x40cm says 12"x16" and also A3. These are 3 different sizes - they don't equal each other. So which is it?** A: They are 30x40cm in size. The inch size is a roundup based on metric size. **Q: Hi I've just purchased these can anybody please let me kno how to put the strengtheners thank you** A: Exerz 24x30cm Framed Canvas 5pk - 1.7cm Pre-Stretched Canvas Artist Blank If search in Youtube or Google, you can find a lot of to teach you how to use the wedgets (stretcher). Normally, you don't need to use it for such a small size canvas like 24x30cm but if the weight of paint make the canvas loose, you can just put it in the frame to tight it a little bit. ## Frequently Bought Together - Exerz 30x40cm Framed Canvas 5pk - 1.7cm Pre-Stretched Canvas Artist Blank/ A3 Canvas 280GSM 100% Cotton/Triple Primed/Acid Free/Medium Grain - Acrylic & Oil - KOLOR KINGDOM Acrylic Paint Set 24 Colours Canvas Paint Kit with 3 Paint Brushes for Crafts,Kids Paints, Paper, Rock Painting, Wood,Ceramic & Fabric Vibrant Colors (24 X 12ML) - Amazon Basics Art Paint Brush Set, Different Sizes for Artists, Adults & Kids, 10 Count, Blue --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://frenchpolynesia.desertcart.com/products/60911845-exerz-30x40cm-pre-stretched-canvas-5-pack-280gsm-cotton-painting](https://frenchpolynesia.desertcart.com/products/60911845-exerz-30x40cm-pre-stretched-canvas-5-pack-280gsm-cotton-painting) --- *Product available on Desertcart French Polynesia* *Store origin: PF* *Last updated: 2026-10-27*
