With other rug pads, I have had to buy adhesive corners or strips which adhere to the floor and the rug, which still allow the rug to shift and are difficult to remove when no longer needed - not the case with the Gorilla Grip rug pad. This rug pad, although thin, sticks very well to both the floor and the rug - without any adhesives. The construction of this rug pad (with grids) makes it very easy to cut to size. This can be done with household scissors. Because of the "grippiness" of this rug pad, I found that it was easiest to roll it up from one end, then unroll it onto the floor, smoothing it out as it is unrolled.

This is a good pad but I wouldn’t call it THICK THICK. It gets the job done and for sure makes slippery rugs stay in place. I had no odor or issues with installing this under our bedside rugs.
